Tried to update ipod touch through settings... went back to check and ipod has an apple with a usb cord, connected to pc and
message says in recovery mode... I know from past experience, all the photos will be gone if I continue to restore from recovery
mode.   Does anyone know how I can save my photos??    The  same thing happened with my other daughter's ipod --- this is
so frustrating -- what's the point of updates -- to fix bugs   NO to mess up the ipods!!!!!!!!!    Try telling your 8 and 10 year old,
all your pictures are lost now.    It's not a very pleasant reaction.   AND I can't blame them.  So I won't be updating my other 3
daughter's ipods.... no more updates in this household!!!!!!
- If they are in an iPod backup then restore from that backup. See the restore topic of:
iOS: How to back up
- If you used PhotoStream then try getting them from your PhotoStream. See that topic of:
iOS: Importing personal photos and videos from iOS devices to your computer
- Maybe via How to perform iPad recovery for photos, videos
