MacBook Pro Hard Disk won't stop filling up!

I was watching a DVD on my MacBook when suddenly I was prompted with a message telling me I had only 200mb left on my startup disk. I found it odd, and continued watching, only to find that 5 minutes or so later I had only 12kb remaining!
Currently it is fluctuating between Zero KB, 12KB and 32KB, and no matter what I delete the drive keeps filling up, hundreds of megabytes a minute.
Even with no applications but the finder open, it still fills up.
Any ideas of what this is? Where I might find the files that keep increasing in size?
I'm frightened to turn off my MacBook...
Usually I have upwards of 50GB spare. When I figure out what can be deleted to make space, I'll try GrandPerspective - thanks!
There doesn't seem to be a log file buildup, but checking the console has reminded me that I stupidly changed permissions earlier today using BatChmod (I had previously done this and solved another problem, when adding a German-English dictionary to my dictionary today I changed the library permissions to me, as it wasn't updating after installation, turned out I hadn't checked it in Preferences):

The instance of BatChmod is my reverting to the previously set permissions of /Library after this problem was discovered - it did nothing.
The Camino repetition seems minor - does
