Have 1GB RAM.  Will follow up with citation.
Wow, well I'm pretty confident it could benefit from a RAM upgrade. As a general rule of thumb OS X likes 500MB of FREE RAM at all times. Keep Activity Monitor open (Applications - Utilities - Activity Monitor), the next time you notice a slow down check A M and click the System Memory tab. If you see about 500MB or less you would benefit from a RAM upgrade. You can buy RAM from reputable sources like (OWC) or Crucial. Installing it is a 10 minute process.
